The presentation of Turkey and Istanbul

Turkey is located between Europe and Asia. The country has been a bridge between East and West throughout the history. Turkey was founded by Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK in 1923.

Istanbul is the
biggest and the most developed city of Turkey.

Istanbul is the city where Europe and Asia meet.

Istanbul is also the most crowded city in Turkey with its over 15 million population.

Having founded
Turkey on the ashes of Ottoman Empire (1299-1923), Atatürk guided a
series of reforms in social, political, linguistic and economic areas.

The reforms of the Turkish Republic, carried the values of secularism, nationalism and modernism which incorporated westernization into society.

Turkish women
gained full universal suffrage in 1934 earlier than most European countries.

Turkey helps refugees. There are about 3.6 million Syrian refugees. Other than Syrians, the highest number of refugees are as follows; Iraq, Iran and Somalia.
